Effect
of roads around a house plot
The position of roads relative to the plot is considered
important in Vastu Shastra.
Road on one side
A plot with road to the eastern side is called 'east
block'. This is a very good position.
A plot with the road to the western side is called the
'west block'. This position is acceptable.
A plot with the road to the northern side is called the
'north block'. This is very good position.
A plot with the road to the southern side is called the
'south block'. This position is not preferred but can
be utilized with careful planning and adhering to all
the other principles of Vastu Shastra.
Roads on two sides.
Plot with roads to the northern and eastern side is called
the 'north east block'. This layout is very good.
Plot with roads to the southern and eastern side is called
'south east block'. This layout is good.
Plot with roads to the southern and western side is called
'south west block'. This layout is least preferred.
Plot with northern and western side is called 'north
west block'. This layout is acceptable.
Roads on three sides.
Sites with roads on three sides are better than those
with roads on two sides.
Plot with roads to northern, eastern and western is very
good.
Plot with roads to northern, eastern and southern sides
is good.
Plot with roads to northern, western and southern sides
is acceptable
Plot with roads to eastern, southern, and western sides
is least preferred.
Roads on four sides.
A Plot with roads on all the four sides is considered
the best.
